July 2024 Update

It’s been a while for a few reasons, as usual time ran away with me and I just couldn’t seem to get organised enough to post, then for some reason I could not log into WordPress and as I couldn’t log in wasn’t sure which email the account was set up with and that took a while to sort out, so I’m back but how regular it will be I’m not sure. If I’m being honest I always seem to fall off track for a few months each year.

I may post as if I was doing the regular monthly updates until Julys one so that it reminds me of what I’ve been doing. I’m still crafting everyday but sometimes it is just a couple of lines of knitting. I have done quite a large destash online. I was due to go to a destash sale in Letchworth earlier in the year but unfortunately couldn’t get back and incase I didn’t sell everything was too much to take on the train.  I may try and arrange one locally, we shall see.

I seem to be in blanket mode at the moment. There are far too many to mention that are in hibernation, all from the lovely Debbie Abrahams. Whilst they may be WIPs, I have prepared all the patterns for when I get back to them. The patterns have all been printed and filed in a seperate folder, firstly I need to get up to speed with this years Mystery Blanket, which I am loving the design and colours of. My choice of squares is option one with the exception of the intarsia and cable squares for which I have chosen to knit the option 2 squares. Patience is not there at present, for a cabled intarsia square.

In an effort to use up the last of my Rowan Handknit Cotton I am knitting the Good Morning, crib blanket by Purl Soho. Its basically a log cabin effect and it is good to have something I don’t need to think about to knit.

The second baby blanket , which is a small baby blanket from Knit Now,  is a mosaic knit and looks to only take two balls. It took me a while to get into the swing of this pattern, it’s easy to follow but for some reason my brain computes lace better than knit and purl patterns.

In my wisdom I have signed up to the Sisu berry knitalong . I have chosen the Lingonberry Sweater, I am hoping to use yarn from stash so I believe the colourwork is likely to be more than 2 colours but we shall see.
